We collect the following information when you use FoodNutriScan:

• Account email address when you sign in
• Food scan images and AI analysis results
• Nutrition tracking history and scan timestamps
• Device information and browser type
• Analytics data (only with your consent via our cookie banner)

We never collect payment information — FoodNutriScan is completely free.

Your data is used solely to provide and improve FoodNutriScan:

• Provide AI food scanning and nutrition results
• Save and sync your scan history across devices
• Improve AI accuracy and food recognition
• Send product updates (only if you opt in)
• Analyse usage patterns to improve the app

We never sell your data to third parties. We never use your data for advertising.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure:

• Database: Supabase (SOC 2 compliant, hosted on AWS)
• Authentication: Supabase Auth with encrypted tokens
• Hosting: Vercel (SOC 2 compliant)
• CDN: Cloudflare (enterprise DDoS protection)
• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)

Scan images are processed by our AI and are not permanently stored on our servers unless you choose to save a scan.

We use the following trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — application hosting
• Cloudflare — CDN and security
• Anthropic — AI food analysis (scan images are processed but not stored)
• Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics (only with your consent)

Each provider is bound by data processing agreements and industry security standards.

We use cookies only with your explicit consent, which you can manage via the cookie banner on your first visit.

Essential cookies (always active):

• Authentication session token
• Cookie consent preference

Optional cookies (only with consent):

• Google Analytics — anonymised page views and feature usage

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using our cookie settings.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of your data
• Correction — update incorrect information
• Deletion — delete your account and all data
• Export — download your scan history
• Objection — opt out of analytics at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at kaps.innovation@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

• Active accounts: data kept while account is active
• Deleted accounts: all personal data permanently deleted within 30 days
• Anonymous analytics: retained for 26 months (Google Analytics default)
• Scan images: not retained after AI processing unless you save the scan to your history

FoodNutriScan is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at kaps.innovation@gmail.com and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify you by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date above
• Showing a notice on the app on your next visit

Continued use of FoodNutriScan after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
